Nintendo Announces Premium Wifi Content Plans

Nintendo has announced plans at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco to extend its Wifi connection on the successful Wii console to include access to "pay and play" content. The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay and Play system will require the user to buy points in order to access online components.

Games sold over the counter which make use of Pay and Play will have a red sticker, contrasting with the current blue logo for Wii Wifi games.

What do you think of this move? If the content is there to back it up, I guess it will be welcomed, but Nintendo's online offering has so far been disappointing compared to rival consoles.

What is Metro Wardrive on Nintendo DS?

Metro Wardrive, as far as I can tell, is an intriguing new homebrew game for the Nintendo DS where the gameplay is affected by the wireless access points around you. So you're playing the game, and device looks for access points near you and uses them, making them represent enemies in the game.

It sounds very cool - having a unique gameplay experience dictated by the actual real life location you're in - although I can only imagine it's a little boring if you live out in the country with no access points / enemies for miles!

Visit the developer's homepage for more information on Metro Wardrive
